The history of V.V.Vanniaperumal College for Women, a temple of learning founded by a great visionary Shri V.V.Vanniaperumal Nadar with a singular objective of empowering rural women through higher education, is a saga of human excellence, endurance and commitment for five decades.

Having started with a meagre strength in 1962, the institution has grown by leaps and bounds into one of the reputed women's colleges in Tamilnadu. Today with strength of 3600 students, the college offers 24 UG courses, 13 PG courses, 4 M.Phil. programs and 2 Ph.D. programs. The college became an autonomous institution in 2009 and it was reaccredited with 'A' GRADE in 2010 by NAAC.

The Mission of the VVVC is to impart liberal education committed to quality and excellence. Its quest is too mould learners into responsible citizens instilling in them leadership qualities, personal integrity, life oriented skills and service mindedness.

The Founding Vision of the Institution is to impart Quality Education to rural womenfolk in and around Virudhunagar and to empower them Knowledge and Leadership.
